Xbox Games

If you are an avid gamer, chances are you have come across an Xbox, or know someone who owns one. While it may not be one of the originals, Microsoft’s Xbox has become a firm favourite among the gaming community. The original Xbox console was released in 2001 as Microsoft’s first foray into the world of console gaming. The Xbox was designed to compete directly with the Sony PlayStation 2 and the Sega Dreamcast machine.

At the time, gamers were completely divided on which console offered the better gaming experience. Having been in the market longer, PlayStation offered more games, but the Xbox offered a completely different gaming experience. Soon, there were proponents on both sides of the fence touting the benefits of the one or the other. In 2005, Microsoft released the Xbox 360 as the successor to the original Xbox machine.

The Xbox 360 established itself rather quickly as a leading competitor for the PlayStation 3 and Nintendo’s Wii console. The Xbox 360 allowed gamers to stream multimedia content directly from their PC or console including music, films and television programs through Xbox Video and Xbox Music. The 360 console was also the first Xbox machine to introduce Kinetic, a motion control system that allowed gamers to interact with games without any handled controls unlike the Wii or PlayStation Move.

Xbox Options

Eight years after the Xbox 360 was released, Microsoft finally unveiled the Xbox One. Their latest Xbox console was designed to compete with the Sony PlayStation 4 as well as the Nintendo Wii U. At the time of its release, there was a massive debate in the gaming community whether the Xbox would dominate the market, taking PlayStation gamers with them. The Xbox one was specifically designed with online gaming in mind. It offers the ability for players to record and steam games directly from the console.
